Behind the roll-up door of a warehouse off a nameless dirt road in farm country near Austin, TX, Fervence is quietly building something special. The 5-piece progressive metalcore band hails from Reno, NV, but last summer, in perhaps the most “Nevada” move of all, the band decided to put all their chips on the table, roll the dice, and relocate from The Biggest Little City to one of the fastest growing cities in the country - Austin, TX. A risky bet for sure, but one that has paid off in spades.
Inspired by bands like Deftones, Architects, and Silent Planet, the Fervence sound is an ethereal blend of harsh and lush, navigating between moments of sheer aggression and poignant vulnerability. What started out as the solo project of guitarist Trent Odneal eventually blossomed into a full-on band around 2019, solidified with the recording of their debut album Ghost, released in March of 2020 at the height of the pandemic. The album was well received and well-reviewed but all planned promotional efforts would be severely kneecapped by the impending shutdown that followed and all progress would come to a screeching halt shortly thereafter.
Having survived the sudden loss of momentum and a couple of line-up changes, the band would reemerge in 2023 with vocalist Stevie B. now at the helm bringing her own unique brand of ethereal aggression to the project. The band would go on to spend the next year touring the west coast, continuing to build their local following in Reno opening for the likes of Otep, Left to Suffer, and Gideon, and releasing 4 singles that would make up their second offering, an EP titled Realm//One. The first single ‘Hezekiah’ got the ball rolling, followed a couple of months later by ‘Entropy’, but it wasn’t until the band made the move to Texas and released ‘The Keepers’ that the buzz really started to build, with the track quickly gaining steam internationally, amassing hundreds of thousands of streams within the first 6 months, and ultimately catching the attention of Metal Blade Records who would go on to sign the band in May of 2025.
Having carved out their own space in the Texas Metal Scene, and with their next chapter set to unfold under the banner of Metal Blade Records, Fervence is hard at work writing the record that they know could make or break them. Behind the roll-up door of a warehouse off a nameless dirt road, Fervence is quietly building something special.
